It has been a long time since I bought and sold my 1977 classic Range Rover.
Now I have just collected a very tasty P38 2.5 DSE. Very pleased with it but I'm determined to return it to some originality. I don't like the bull bars.
Simple stuff has started. New wipers front and back. Remove all the cheap Chinese bulbs and replace with conventional ones that are brighter than candles!
Clean up the engine bay with degreaser and G101. A good scrub of the interior and use a leather restorer.
It will be a project even though there has been lots done already to the mechanicals.
I'll find out how to post pictures from my phone.

First attempt at loading pics.

It had a full service today.
MOT on Monday.
A ball joint cover was replaced today so the mechanic sees no other reason why it should not pass. He recommends replacing the air bags in the near future as they are looking old.
They seem cheap enough to buy but its the fitting that seems to be the costly bit. Is it a DIY job?

The short answer is Yes.
Have a look around the range rover section I seem to remember theres a guide in the tech archive which covers this. Also lots of chatter on which 1s to buy as always there are good and bad reviews of different makes.

Thanks. I found the guide and it seems ok to do. As usual I'll set aside half or maybe all day to ensure I can overcome any problems. Now to find some quality air bags.

Best ask in the Range Rover section, I haven’t brought bags for yrs now and obviously I do not have the same availability as you have:).
