Potential new Disco owner here.

Just test drove a 2013 LR4 HSE with 70k miles. Have never driven (let alone owned) a Land Rover. The drive was smooth as hell with engine and wind noises subdued to levels, which gave me a literal eargasm. What surprised me however was the creaky noises the interior plastic parts made. A slight nudge with a knee on the center console or a gentle push with elbow on the arm rest and the resulting creaky noise was pretty annoying. The creakiness was also evident, when driving on a bit rougher country road (not talking about true off-road here, mind you).

Is this normal for Discos? Or potentially vehicle-specific and hence a showstopper?

I have had many makes of car that do the same, you have to work out where the creak is comig from (sadly that is the reallly hard bit!), then stick a small piece of felt in between the offending bits of plastic.
I had a creak that droive my nuts for months in a disco 2, in the end it was the bloody glovebox lid and the noise was from inside the lid itself!
