Hi,
Anyone know what the thread is for the bellhousing and timing belt cover
wading plugs ?
Thanks

Steve

The OD of the thread measures 13.50mm. This is 0.3mm over the 1/4" BSP
thread diameter, but
may well be a 1/4 BSPT thread. With only three full turns of thread on the
plug I have, it's too
short to tell.

M14 perhaps then ? Though I've got a 1/4BSP die. Thanks John.

I'd expect it to be metric on a TDi, everything else is.

Is it tapered? Is it used without a seal?

Most likely 1/4" NPT. 18 threads per inch.

Whipped a 1/4/BSP tap through the 4 threads in the hole, and it barely
cut anything but the corrosion in the threads. M14 is probably the real
thread, but the difference seems to be miniscule.

Thanks for all the help.
