200tdi verses 300tdi!

Can you help....gonna put a second hand engine in my 90. Have heard bad reports about the 300 tdi but my local landrover guy says its bull and they are fine! But whats the difference between the two? Horse power...cubic capacity...both? Wanna tow a caravan six up with no problems...ie pull up hill at least at 55mph....which is the best engine? One of the above or something different? Thanks

they are the same CC, same output power.

I have a 300 and think its great - its easier to fit a disco 300 than a disco 200.

some people rekon the 300 is a more refined a quieter engine, but i dnt believe that.

I am frequently surprised by the power of my 300, i think its great.

Very little real difference betweem em. Choose an engine based on whether it's any good, ie mileage, service history etc rather than 200 vs 300.
