Have a look on the Glencoyne Engineering site, http://www.glencoyne.co.uk/tdi300.htm there is loads of good information. Basically a factory Defender 200tdi engine mounts and gearbox bolt pattern are the same as a 2.5 N/A.
Bolting a 300tdi engine in place of a 200tdi requires the same modifications as bolting one in place of a 2.5 N/A and Turbo D.
The bell-housing bolt Patten is the same-ish, but as the clutch slave cylinder is in a different position on the 300tdi, you end up with a few bolts missing. Alternatively you can use the flywheel housing from a Defender 200tdi , which will mate perfectly, but doesn't have the "ears" that brace with the 300tdi engine mounts. This is probably the best option if you don't use 300tdi mounts, conversely, use a 300tdi flywheel housing with300tdi engine mounts.
You can use Defender 200tdi engine mounts on the passenger side, but you need modified mounts on the driver's side as the oil filter housing is in the way. These would mount to the existing chassis mounts.
The 300tdi engine mounts are situated much further back on the engine and require new mounts welding to the chassis. You can get these from Steve Parker Land Rovers, they are not cheap, but are easy to line up and fit and save a load of time.
If your 200tdi turbo and exhaust manifold are in good condition I think that they will fit the 300tdi, although the routing of the exhaust would probably rule out 300tdi engine mounts. Similarly if you use the 300tdi exhaust manifold and turbo, the routing of the exhaust would make 300tdi mounts a better option. You would have to fabricate the front section of exhaust pipe as well and fit a 300tdi intercooler and possibly radiator (lower ppes enter at different angles.)
