My disco 200 lump starts up a little rough and what I can't figure out is where the coolant is dissappearing to. Especially when I haven't drove it a while as it's not a daily driver....

How do I pressure test it? I'm hoping it's something simple like the headgasket and not something serious..

I also noticed in tesco car park when fitting it up with coolant that it was blowing more than usual from the oil breather, it reminded me of my old 19j engine...

When I opened the cap to put coolant in at tesco it had no water in the res tank and swallowed a whole 5 litre but upon opening the cap it spat a little out with a fair amount of pressure.

Do you have any white-ish/yellowish emulsion on your dipstick?

If not, it could be that the head gasket has blown across an exhaust port.

Do you have any white smoke from the exhaust, as that is another clue?

Just pull the head its easy enough, keep using it and you are going to cook it.

Couple of days off now so I'll take a look in the daytomorrow plenty of smoke maybe a bit white. Oil cap is just oily, not checked dipstick yet. I was reading a few threads and I thought to myself hmm mine has started doing that lately... Noticed it's been alot warmer in the cab after a good run tho
