200tdi in P38 2.5DSE... Advice.

Hi there... Just got myself a P38 range rover with a bad bmw diesel engine. Was thinking of swapping the bmw engine with a 200tdi I hve frm a wrecked classic. Question is, what are d hurdles in carrying out such a swap? Please advice...

Major project i would think. To me not worth the hassle.

Depends on what the Tdi engine needs in the way of electronic control to enable it, you would also have to be able to get the BECM in the P38 to cooperate.
Where abouts in Ghana? Often wonder what it's like out there these days, I was there late 60's early 70's, loved the country but not the mosquito's!

tdi has no electronics just needs live feed for pump solenoid and alternator, starter,so would run but not in conjunction with car electrics

Thanx for all your answers.... Wammers, I would like to ask you though, why do you think its not worth the hassle and what would you have me do instead? Has anyone done that conversion before and how did it go?
