200Tdi Engine number

Hi all,
On a 200Tdi is the engine number an eight figure number followed by a letter? The number I can find, under number 1 injector is 121****7A. Can someone please confirm if this is the engine number. Thanks

The number thats stamped under no 1 injector area is the engine number.mine starts 14L

Mines has 11L stamped before the other numbers, but ye're in the right place

I've just checked again and definately starts 121 with no letters up front. The number is under No1 injector on a flat surface at the top of the block where it meets the head. Can't find any other number anywhere near.

Probly 12 "I" etc. Mine (disco) is also a 12L. Yours might be an L as well, just a bit grimy or worn!
