Hey there. I need to look at extending my oil cooler hoses. I was wondering if the metal bits of piping were just made of mild steel, in which case I was thinking of getting some steel pipe, just slightly larger that the oil pipes, and then cutting, sleeving and stitch welding the new pipe on. If it's not steel, then that's not much good. I don't suppose anyone would know the diameter of the pipes off the top of their heads either? I'm at work at the moment, I might be able to get some suitable piping before I go home if I know what I'm looking for :)

I've been led to believe that the cooler pipes from a 19j, + the fittings at either end are a good solution, but I'm damned if I can find any :/

Cheers. Tom.

there happens to be a Pirtek in Gloucester, so that's a compelling option you've raised there Dr. McCoy :) I'm still hoping that the piping is just plain old mild steel so I can weld it myself though :)

tom don't be so tight and go and buy some to fit tight arse. lol the ones i used was as follows :-
OIL COOLER PIPES ESR280 &ESR281
got the part numbers from lrseries then went onto paddocks webpage cause they where cheaper, hope this helps mate. pop up and have alook at mine before you decide if ya want.

Mate got his rubber lines extended for about 30 pounds.

if you are to tight to buy new pipes the easiest way is to buy the tube to match and use hydraulic grade compression fittings .If thats to expensive make a sleeve joint and braze or silver solder the joint(welding thin dirty pipe aint nice)

I'm not too tight to, just think that if I can do it myself I will! I've just blown my months budget in one day on clutch fork, Pas bits, welding consumables, a vet bill for my girlfriend horse and a cross member from yourself pressbrake ;)

hold your horses young sir... have you actually tried fitting your 19j pipes? i tried on an off chance and they fitted spot on! saved me a few bob and a day of faffing about!

Im sorry:) Just go to a hydraulic pipe wholesaler ,not those rapists pirtek
buy some oil grade hose rated at 10bar and some proper bolted hose clips.
Then cut the hose off you existing pipes and the damaged area of steel pipe and solder on olives on the ends which will give the hose something to grip onto.
This method works up to 1000psi no problem.
