 Hi, We are just about too replace the clutch on my friends 200tdi and we are wondering if it is easier to remove the engine, which we have been advised is the easiest option, or is it easier to remove the gear and transfer box too complete the job, any views are welcome, ta in advance.:D

if lifting tackle available go the engine removal route, replace clutch fork whilst you are in there as they are prone to having the pushrod push through them once a clutch has been replaced.

I agree ive changed many clutches onthe 200 and 300 series cars and to hang the engine from a hoist pulling to forward a few inches is easer than the box out.
