I have been trying to sort out a complete spare key for my 2007 Supercharged Range Rover with part success.
Local autolocksmith has sorted a spare that will manually open the door and start by copying my current keys transponder.
Tried 3 locksmith diagnostics tools to try and program a spare key to no avail. It got to the point of putting the new key In and would fail. The ignition lock would not unlock the barrel to allow the ignition to turn?
I have an emergency spare now but don't want to loose remote open close.
Anyone had similar problems and found a solution?
Cheers

Main Stealer I believe.

Just guessing here but don't the keys use a rolling code so once used it moves to the next code, if you just clone a key the one you don't use won't roll on to the next code.

There has to be provision with in the vehicle system to re-sync the rolling code just as there is on the P38. You cannot have 2 FOB's with the same I.D.

Don’t know if it’s the same but bought a key fob remote off line, got a locksmith to cut the new blade , then programmed the key with my gap iid

know the Autel AP200 programs keys , there only around £45 , think I paid 25 for the fob and £10 for the blade cutting

certainly wasn’t going to pay the outrageous prices the dealers were asking

lastly please be very careful using all different diagnostics as u can brick ur car and then be in real trouble

I bought the AP200 after checking it would program keys. Didn't work, but has paid for itself with other jobs. I got a key off ebay and the local locksmith got one and tried 3 machines. Nothing would sort either. Will keep looking.
Where did you get your key fob, any details or a link? I had to buy a LR3/sport Supercharged key which might be my issue. Wrong key.....

that’s a shame , know they work with the D3 and sport , indeed urs is a full fat Range Rover not a sport , good to hear ur ap 200 has paid for itself, did u get a white or red one plse as there believe or not able to do different things

When I done my key I personally used my gap iid , know there not cheap but extremely good and will pay for themselves very quickly and can do a lot with them

I’ll find the link for u, plus hope I don’t mind me saying make sure ur keyfob is 433 mhz

of course like all of us more than happy to help u get the issue resolved

I had only one key for my L322,I ended up at the main dealer, it took 2 days and fits perfect, Oh! the cost, an eye watering £428

hoooooow much, yikes

think I pad a total of £40 for fob and key cut, plus I suppose cost of my diagnostics to program my keys but at the end of the day wasn’t dead money so to speak

Yes I got the white one. It can do more than the other two which are red.

Hi, Thanks for the link. Apparently there is a more in depth way of getting a key for the full fat, apparently its different to the LR3 and RRS. Still working on it.
