Hi guys,

I have just had the AA out to start my Freelander TD4 2005 auto. The nice AA guy had to smack the rear fuel pump a couple of times before removing the rear offside wheel, wheel cowl and then he hit it and got it to work.

I need a rear fuel pump. On the websites some are saying rear fuel pump others are saying fuel sender unit. Can anyone please tell me what the part is I am after. Also on the websites it says in intank but the one on my freelander is not in the tank.

I am slightly confused please help

Sponsors of this site Famous Four £109 + vat FF 005175, not genuine LR but Original Equipment. Don't buy off Auction sites as they're crap and only last a short time and are very noisy. Fit a new filter at the same time, unlikely that yours has the fuel burning heater so should only be one pump in wheel arch.

Unfortunately my freelander does have a FBH.

I think in the winter you'll be thankful for it.

Be that as it may - the fbh makes no difference to the pump replacement.

The fbh pump is tucked away above the main fuel pump in the wheel arch.

Be sure to read up well on the change procedure as it's not a five minute swap-over.

Have a search - loads of info.

Yes last winter I was really glad I had an FBH. Will do my research for the pump thank you.
