Hi all,
I'm going to be changing the Battery on my 110 TD5 in the next couple of weeks. So, before i set off alarms or can't start the radio again, etc etc..... Can anyone give me a step-by-step guide to change the Battery please? Nothing unusual about the 110, single Battery and original key-fob. If you can help that would be great and if you need any more info let me know. Cheers, Moonsafari.

From the owners manual
(Ensure you have the radio code before you start)

Battery removal and replacement
Your vehicle may be fitted with a battery
backed-up sounder, which operates as an
anti-theft siren if the main battery is
disconnected.
If it is necessary to remove the main vehicle
battery, it is ESSENTIAL to adopt the following
procedure before disconnecting the terminals
in order to prevent the siren from sounding:
1. Turn the starter switch ’on’ and then ’off’.
Then remove the key.
2. Disconnect the vehicle battery WITHIN 15
SECONDS (if it is not disconnected within
15 seconds, the back-up siren will sound
immediately the battery terminals are
disconnected).
ALWAYS disconnect the negative (’-’) terminal
first. When replacing, connect the positive
(’+’) terminal first.
If the siren sounds when the battery is
reconnected, it CANNOT be turned off in the
normal way (ie. by operating the handset
buttons). To deactivate the siren, disarm the
alarm system with the handset and turn the
starter switch to position ’II’.

I do not recall having to do anything with my key fobs when I replaced my battery.
You will obviously have disarmed the alarm with the fob as you unlocked the car before starting the removal sequence

You haven't mentioned it again but do you in fact have the radio code? Or not need it cos it's a face-off? If you don't have it but need it there are two ways round this.Get back on again if you need to about this.

All, thank you for the replies on this and apologies for the late reply but shift work dictates. The help and info is really appreciated. The radio is an old face-off (Pioneer) so that should be ok, worst case i'll google the code.

I'm about to order the new Battery, and i'll go for one of the below unless your wise words point me in a different direction:
1) 663 Enduroline (side terminal) 4 year guarantee - 810 CCA
2) 640SHD Yuasa Cargo (center terminal) - 2 year guarantee - 925 CCA
Both are very similar dimensions so should be ok for the under-seat battery space. They do have different stud locations though so i will need to check cable lengths with what i have fitted. Which Battery would you suggest from these two?

Cheers,

Why not just fit a standard OE battery, you know then that the cables will reach. Mines been in since 2012 and is still fine.
I replaced the original one in my missus’ 90 last year, so that’s lasted 14 years.

Hi Lightning, what's the part number i should be looking for? If it's available for the same cost I tend to agree, just assumed that would me the more expensive option.
