hi guys after a peaceful and trouble free few months since my gearbox soleniod woes my car sprung a coolant leak the other day. I got a low coolant warning message on the dash along with a puddle under the engine at the front and had to add 1 litre of coolant to top it back up.

After topping the level up I decided to take the car for a drive to warm it up and hopefully see if could spot the leak - I have since found the source and have attached a couple of photos to this thread showing the point where I can see coolant dripping (at quite a fast rate of 1 drip every few seconds). The drip seems to be coming from the joint between the black hose and what I'm assuming is the water pump behind it?

Was hoping to get some advice on the best way to tackle this - is it a case of removing/replacing that hose, or is there a gasket or seal I can replace at the connection or would the water pump be at fault for this leak? The car drives fine with warm heaters and no weird noises from the engine so I assume the water pump is functioning as normal?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Mine blew apart as in that video and I replaced mine with a pattern part which is not great and the quick release couplings leak if you so much as brush past them. There is an internal o ring but if you have the cash and it looks like the original old part or a pattern I’d change it.

Looks like the O-ring inside the pipe has failed..

When i put the M62 together i made the mistake of using the original hose, once it got up to running temp and pressure the o-ring failed and showered the entire engine in hot coolant..

Replace it with a good pattern part and ya'll be good to go... :D

Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated. I'll get that pipe ordered and fitted to hopefully rectify the problem. I've watched the engine from cold and like your car Henry mine starts dripping once the coolant gets hot (when the engine was cold it didn't drip).

Fantastic advances by those Germans on the L322 weren't they?

I suspect there is a "Land Rover Law" function at work.
The number of crap elements to be found in the vehicle always increases as a square function from those of the preceding model/Genre.
Seems legit ;)

Aye once pressure in the system builds that's when you get the issue! ;)
