I did about 70 miles yesterday morning then went to drop something off at my parents. Then one of my parents neighbours noticed I had a flat tyre. OK, great. Changed over the NSRear tyre. Cool. Went to leave and it wouldn't start. It started but stopped after about 20 seconds. I tried a few times more but with the same result.
I didn't have a vast amount of fuel in the car but the light wasn't on.
Ive tried the fuel reset switch but it hasn't worked, but the switch doesn't really feel like its reseting. Theres no real feel of a 'switch' there.
So to sum up, I had a perfectly running TD4. Jacked it up, change the tyre. Engine wont run for more than 20 seconds. Help.

Message to the moderator. You can delete this thread, or leave it as an example. I basically cant trust my fuel gauge. Maybe jacking up the vehicle moved some fuel so I wasn't picking up, but ive put 9 liters of diesal in and she's working again.
Sorry to waste time.

Don't delete the thread - example to all of us that it's sometimes the simplest of things which mess us up.

Glad it wasn't anything more serious than being too tight to fill her up properly :D

Are you running 2WD? If you're running 4WD the neighbour could have just saved you a lot of cash - and make sure that spare tyre was the same as the others on the car - if not sort the tyres out or you could still have a serious bill heading you way!
