2003 l323 crackle noise speakers

Hi I have a 2003 l322 3tds I have noticed today a cracking noise coming from drivers side front speaker this is happening even with stereo turned of any ideas what problem might be causing this would be very much appreciated

Look or damp and corroded connectors behind the trim in the nearside rear quarter, water ingress is a common problem

Thank you I have a look there would make sense as it's been raining for over 12 hours none stop

Corrosion between the pins can be hard to spot.
