Hello..Just got a 2003 Disco TD5..The sunroof water drain tube has snapped off of the small plastic box which seems to be siliconed on to the Metal drain channel of the sunroof..Can anbody tell me is this plastic box which the drain tube connects to, held on with a screw or is it just stuck on with glue..As I need to get it off to try and mend it ..Without hopefully taking the bottom half of the sunroof off..Cheers.....

In my 2001 D2 the plastic box was just glued on to the sunroof frame and sealed .
If you search the forum some people have managed to repair a broken stub for the drain pipe without disturbing the rest of the roof or the box .
Google Discovery sunroof/leaks/fixes/repairs etc and you will come across a solution .
The D1 and D2 sunroofs are the same so what applies to D1 will apply to D2 .
If I come across a link I will post back .

on mine one had come away by a clean break and the other one had a crack, get some really good strong glue, i used what we use for fixing kitchen work tops together, and glue it back, then i painted it with a water proof paint, blew the tubes out and reseated them back on, never leaked again from there, then i had to take the whole unit out 3 months later as the frame seal had lost it's seal to the roof, so leaking from there too, so my advise is take the whole linning out, both sunroofs and re seal the whole lot, as in time and as you read on here they are prone for it, left hand bends my Mrs always got wet!
that is the only cure!

While it may seem a big job I would agree with discodrivercumbria .
I took out both sunroofs at one stage and the gasket between sunroof frame and vehicle roof was about the thickness of one sheet of newspaper . It certainly wasn't sealing much.
What I did first was removed headlining and drove like that for a week as I wanted to pinpoint leaks . A bit noisier but not tooo bad .
Then I removed both sunroofs and sealed them back into the roof using a thick bead of Tiger Seal ( I would have preferred Silkaflex but couldn't get it at the time ).
I gave sealant 24 hrs to set - very important .
I then drove the Disco for another week without the headlining to make sure all was dry - which it was .
Then refitted headlining and was free of leaks .
With the headlining in place leaks can be hard to pinpoint as the water can run around on the headling and come down anywhere - I got a splash of ice cold water on a few occasions when I put on the seatbelt for example .
Each sunroof is held in place by 14 (I think ) Torx headed screws - you may find some of them quite rusty so a good dousing with penetrating oil a day or two before removal can help . The brass inserts the screws go into may start to turn and this can be annoying .
