Where do you get these from???:confused::confused:

Ebay is awash with the small key type for defender's upto 2002(?).

I believe that I need a large key type?

Help?!?!? :D

Ive just had the same problem:rolleyes:The part you need as far as ive been told is CWC500190. These are original Land Rover parts and are so expensive... works out about £70 per barrel!!! I cant find a cheap alternative yet. Im wondering if it would be possible to buy 2 handles and 2 smaller barrels for the doors... would the smaller locks work in the doors?? Heres a link of where you can get the bigger barrels from. CWC500190 - LOCKSET - COMPLETE VEHICLE totalparts.co.uk
If you find a cheaper way of getting these locks let me know.

I have fitted new 2011 doors to my 1994 defender complete with all the mechanism from the 1994 vintage of landrover and with the barrels made to match my ignition barrel and fuel filler! The parts were very cheap, I think the barrels were about £6 each, handles, inner handles, connecting bits etc etc came to about £40 for both doors but you probably only need the barrels and handles.

The CWC500190 is the part but like I said... they cost a packet. Does anyone know if you replaced the door handles which house the smaller locks (MTC6504) and fitted the smaller barrels, would that work with the mechanism?

My doors are new ones off of a 2011 90 which were stored fora couple of years before i got them. When they arrived it was minus all the door handles, barrels and latches. I fitted my 1994 latches and new handles (internal and external), new barrels etc. The ones I fitted were all brit part copies of 1994 vintage parts. The parts cost about £15-20 per door. My doors and locks all work perfectly.

mmmm. so not wanting to sound like a right nonce.... if i replace the push button type handles that house a 20mm diameter barrel with the same with approx 15mm diameter barrel, that would work and save myself a few quid??
