hello , I need to replace the front crankshaft seal on my 01 range rover.
does the timing chain cover need to removed to replace this seal ?
or is it possible to replace just the seal after i remove bottom pulley?

I located a new seal for 12.00 and it is on it's way to me, should be here by Friday, just wanted to get ahead and be ready to install it right away

thank,s in advance , jon

if this has already been addressed in a thread please direct me to it.

Just remove the pulley and prise out the old seal. Give the seal a coating of engine oil and tap home nice and square with either a suitable piece of tube or a socket. If not available, use a piece of wood. Light taps will drive it home...don't go mad with the hammer blows!!!!!!
