2000 DHSE fuel leak

I've taken off the bolt in the timing pin hole and replaced the washer. There was a small amount leaking from top of the pump where the return pipe connects. I removed the return pipes and replaced the washers but when tightening the pipe fittings back up to the specified torque (25nm) I never even got that far, it's just spinning and has stripped the thread. Never seemed to tighten at all. Could a drop of locktite sort that or does the top of pump need replacing?

I'm guessing most locktite products will be removed once the fuel is pumping?

maybe some chemical metal or re tap the thread?

Yeah perhaps locktite may not work with the fuel... I'm assuming at some point this has been over tightened

Wonder if I could change the top part of pump? Only it's got 3 star head bolds and one strange looking triangle bolt that I don't have a bit for

Hammer on a 7mm socket and replace with a normal bolt

Bosch tool is £30!! and all it still rounds it off, so will need replacing - you will need a new gasket too

but if you're going that far then replace the next gasket down too as this is the common one that leaks

Make sure you mark everything off BEFORE you remove anything!! They all need to go back in the same location!!

Sorted. Went to garage that replaced the pump and asked for my old pump back.. Took the top cap off, placed on pump on the motor. Job done.

And I replaced the washer on the bolt where the timing pin goes and leak now cured.

So as you said wammers a 2 penny washer, that I got for free from local garage.
