a depender or just a 200 engine ?

the engine mate as i rebuilt the 110 last year but now the engine sounds like its got a bag of marbles in it when its under load, if fine if you rev it at a stand still but when its driving down the road it really rattles.

tends only to be engines that have been really worked hard or have very high miles that warrant a complete rebuild - it's just time, money, some tools, knowledge and application that's needed to rebuild one

more often it's just a top end that's needed

you sure it's a engine rattle ?

had one in last week, chap said the engine sounded like it was on it's last legs - turned out to be the tranny brake lever mount was loose

easy enough , not long finished one for my brother . The cam and followers where shot tho + the skew gear was warn to **** the rest of it was good ( engine was stood a few yrs when he bought it , whole vehicle ) .

Buy new head bolts and Gen crank main seal and a good gasket set - download the 200 engine manual ( mainly for torque settings for everything ) then use your judgement on whether to fit new or run with the old bits you find . Double check the CVD the one I did had a hairline crack in it

rebuilt mine a few years ago after it ran a big end bearing.
i replaced with new:
crank
cam
followers
rings
oil pump
oil pump drive shaft
shells

These were the things that were most worn out the rest were still useable. i had rebuilt the head not that long before so it was still good.
The whole job didnt cost a massive amount and only took me a few days and it was back in running well.
its well worth doing as you then know you have a damn good engine.
The only thing i had trouble with was the gaskets. buy a genuine gasket set as cheap ones are really ****e and generally you want oil and water to stay in your engine!
