I tweaked mt 300 tdi pup last months and was really happy with the results,

Was in the pub and my mate said mines really slow, I said its a landrover not a race car, I drove it yesterday and its flat as f#*k I said I'd have alook at it.

Took the top off the pump, went to remove the diaphragm and it turned and pop up but then wouldn't come out, if u pleel the edge of the diaphragm back it all look rusty and corroded, no I know mine was nice and clean so I'm guessing water has got in,

As I carnt get the spindle out I tried adjusting it by turning it, nothing dint make a diffrence,

Am I right in thinking that the stroke pin? If that's what it's called at the bottom of the spindle as seized and therefor can not adjust the fuelling?

My mate had enough of it and just wants to sell it now, he thinks the engine is dead I think its the pump, and befor anyone says ill buy it I have 1st dibs

That was my advise but he's on about some one he knows that refurbs them and will do it at mates rates apparently

get some WD40 in there, I have had this where it had got water in on my old 300tdi, put in some WD and left it, after a few hours it free'd up and came out fine...

You on about the lift pump? They are only 20quid for the one with the kit, 14 for the other.. why bother refurbing?!

Will give it a try, it's already broke so carnt break it more.

I'd go along with this, but use Plusgas rather than WD40 to free it off, leave for a while and keep agitating it to try and get more fluid down into the seized area.
