200 TDI Light Problem

Just got a 200tdi and didn't think to check the lights when I bought it. Had it two months now and first time in the dark I'm having problems with them.

Issue:

Main light switch

First position side tail and instruments
Second position side tail and instruments no headlights

Headlight , indicator stalk
Push it forward headlights come on but no full beam.
Pull it as your flashing someone full beam comes on and then off (like it should)

Just wondering if anyone has an idea what it could be.

Most times it's problems with the dip/head switch,especialy if someone has fitted more power full headlamps.It can't take much extra load.

I think it's a 50 / 50 between indicator stalk switch and head light switch. No doubt I'll switch both and it still won't work.
