Hi there,
The beloved 200 tdi is using water, had one of those funky little sniff tools stuck in the header tank and it changed colour indicating exhaust gases are in the water :( Not the end of the world, but i would normally get the head checked out on any other vehicle, but 3 people have told me now not to worry and just replace the gasket, as its a bullet proof head? is this correct??

Thats all ive ever done on the 200 x2 and the 300 ones i have done, new gasket old bolts and away it goes

I've just sorted my 200tdi hgf out and head needed a skim, guy who did it said it shouldn't need pressure testing and now its all back together and drives/sounds 100% better than when I got it. They are meant to be bullet proof but it depends how well they've been looked after!
