Right then, how are you supposed to remove said item? Undid 2 small nuts, intercooler and top hose jamming it in. Removed those and still the fookin bastid thing won't slip over the fan. Managed to get to alternator and tighten belt up after skinning 6 knuckles and dropping 1/2" drive on me head when tightening bottom pivot bolt, but I need to remove it in order to remove fan so I can change steering pump belt.

Any ideas, or should I just rip the fookin bastid thing out and not put it back?

yer steering pump belt should slip over the fan without takin the shroud or fan off. it is a mission but can be done

Yep I've removed the belt with out any faffing about. Slip the belt over one of the fan blades then turn the fan until the belt ends up on the wrong side of the fan. then drag it clear.

Righty ho, will give that one a try, but I fear yet more knuckle skinning and wrist scratching in the process.

Might just get a hacksaw to it and fit a leccy fan, but I need me pennies fer Chrimbo shopping at the mo :(

when i took the fan cowl off my landy, i drilled the 6 pop rivets that hold the cowl together, so it came apart in two pieces,

i havent bothered replacing the cowl, it makes the engine run a touch warmer, but apart from that i havent noticed any problem with running without it,
