200 tdi fan belt

I've changed the fan belt ( coolant pump and PAS pump belt ) twice since i've had the disco, no matter how i try after a few hundred miles it needs adjusting again, all the bolts have been changed because they were rounded off, what am I doing wrong? any advice welcome

It doesn't sound like a problem to me if you have the disco since 1989

Tell us exactly what and how do you adjust the belt and maybe we'll be able to help.

i've only had the car since feburary this year, i adjusted the belt so there was about 5mm play along the longest gap between pullies, as recommended in the haynes manual,
