It goes into the binnacle that would mean stripping it all out and I’m still not positive that it’s the problem just working through bit at a time didn’t realise they be so hard to source

If you want to de-pin it then in each channel you need to use either a safety pin, or narrow flat bladed jewellers screw driver to move a plastic locking tooth away from the pin and withdraw the wire/pin backwards (after you've undone the lock on the wire side of the connector. It's very technique dependent - the more you pull the wire the harder it is to pop the tooth up... you don't need too much force. if you get a 2x or 5x magnifying glass the connector will probably say on it what it is. Maybe an AMP connector.

Same connector type are used all over the car, but with different pin numbers. There are probably UK suppliers, but maybe it's this one from China ?

After you unclip the rear retainers that hinge out, push the terminal into the housing, and then use jewellers screwdriver to release the tab. Then pull the wire & connection out.

The usual problem is loose socket contacts, so they are intermittent on the pins on the other side.

Cheers pwood999 just ordered a few from a uk site from that part number I’ve got the car starting and running properly now but I will replace that plug with new just in case

I haven’t got a link but the companies called farnell whack that in google and you will find them they do loads of connectors

Yes I use Farnell for all sorts of stuff, but they have hundreds of multi-way connectors

Connector Part number perhaps? It should be you email from Farnell when you ordered.
