20 bhp mod

can anyone tell me were to put it [apart from the obvious] on a 200 tdi 92

What mod?

i think its a resistor type thing the instuctions sugest i remove the plug from the airflow sensor and plug in this gismo .i looked in the haynes manual but that only shows a 300tdi and my 200 tdi apears to be diferent

No idea about the resistor mod in the 200tdi...

thanks discomania would you know if the 200 tdi has an airflow switch or not [to do with the cold air into the turbo i believe

I'd stick it straight in the bin. These things, if they do anything, fool the electronics into leaving the system in cold start mode, flooding your cylinders with excess fuel leading to a totally S*****d engine.
I don't think they'll work on a 200 anyway as its totally mechanical injection.


Hi guys, just joined the forum.

The 200TDI is mechanical injection and does not have an airflow meter fitted. The best way to increase BHP on a 200 is to get a larger capacity intercooler and also have the turbo and pump tweaked. It is possible to gain upto 30bhp going down this route.

LA is correct, these gizmo's are designed fer vehichles with electronics on em, the 200tdi is an old fashioned diesel that requires no computerised trickery to make it work, bin the piece of crap

I must say I've enjoyed reading your postings for a while before I ventured in, especially the ones about the EGR replacement, I fitted a plate and was well impressed. If I could venture a pun, your thoughts on the subject were a breath of fresh air!!
