20-50 oil into my 2.5td?

Am getting a recon 200tdi engine fitted into my 90 in five weeks time but mean time gonna put a few miles on it due to busy work.
Its burning oil like **** so could i put some 20-50 morrisons crap in it to get me through. Its £4.80 odd for five litres which makes it cheaper than desiel and as am doing five litres a week it bloody needs to be!
Please help!

take the tube that comes from the breather on top of the rocker cover off and attach it to a container (empty 2l milk container will do) - and pour it back in when it gets filled up

and avoid doing more than 40mph

if your getting a recon engine anyway just stick the cheap oil in. ive found diesels seem to run ok on anything.
