my 300tdi 90 needs +2" shock turrets but I'm just wondering what people do with there header tank as the turrets will be in the way? any pics info appreciated

I'm no expert as I don't go in for all these fashionable accessories but surely the turrets are minus 2", ie lower, not higher?

Fitting lowered shock mounts will give you more downward articulation (droop) but you will reduce the upward articulation and you would need to extend the bump stops to protect the shock absorber from becoming over compressed. Fitting raised shock mounts allows you to fit longer shocks which will keep the original amount of upward articulation while adding increased lower articulation.

i need +2" turrets (ordered already) as I've got +5" shocks fitted and like dag019 says they are bottoming out as the turrets are standerd height at the moment.
i know i defiantly need the +2" turrets but i now also need to move header tank to allow the room they need, so just hoping someone has pics so i can see what others have done with theres to give me ideas.

Just space it out with some threaded bar and slide some tube over it to make it solid.

Yes it is stable as you still use the bracket on the other side of the header tank.Yes it is a second servo for the clutch and i made a bracket to mount it to the bulkhead so it does't move.

i fitted my +2" turrets today, tried spacing my header tank over but i could not due to where the bonnet stay sits when bonnet is down. like you say the i forgot about the say on the other side of the header tank what would support it.
going to get a alloy header tank made up for it as I've got no where to put the original to be honest.

You need the other type bonnet prop,I had the same problem.i was lucky and had all the brackets on my bonnet so it was just a case of making the prop, some defenders don't have the brackets though.

i was going to do get the other bonnet stay but I've opted for an alloy header tank to be made, seeing the bloke who makes them in the morning to measure up, will be sorted in a few days all being well. thanks for your help though.
