+2" Rear shock mounts- how come they're wrong?

My rear shocks were leaking on my +2" lifted pickup.
I bought new ones, got that bit right.
But the upper mounting is at the wrong angle and the new ones won't go in. The old shocks had more forgiving rubber bushes and sort of fitted.

Question is: Are the upper mounts the same for 2" lift as standard ones? And did someone fit -2" ones (are these different?) as the way they point suggests this?

Do I need to buy yet more parts?

They're the same angle mate, just new bushes make it a bit awkward to get in. Put the inner bush on the stud, feed the shock on to the stud, then slide the outer bush on. But the big plate and nut on and tighten it up. It should all compress together
