2 problems please help? ! thanks

first problem is key code, 2.5 dse have to put keycode in as engine immobilised every time you leave car for a while etc , when you have put code in car fob works locks unlocks etc etc fine but if the vehicle is locked then left for a while it then does not work and requires keycode, keyfob had new batteries not that long ago so what else could it be?


second issue is the gearbox on my 2000 4.6 eveything is fine except from second going down to first it slaps in to gear sought of knocks sometimes alot worse than other times but allways noticable, only second down to first when pulling up not accelerating or deacllerating at all in any other gears, ive been told 4 diiferent things now and dont know where to put my hard earned into! any help much appreciated cheers.

have you tried changing and flushing the transmission fluid, might work wonders if it hasn't been done for a while

With regard to the DSE, I would splash out on a new battery for the car. it sounds to me like this could be the problem. i assume you are not having trouble starting?

Have you checked battery terminals?

not too sure about the key fob but what you described about the gear change was happening to me earlier this year this turned to be a broken fly wheel hope this helps
