anyone use one of these in an R R ,maybe with auto box ? also good source for
engine..........or maybe a 4.2 Nissan? .........regards David

I have a 2.8 Trooper and always found it underpowered for a Troopers
weight let alone a much heavier LR. i think you'd find climbing hills
to resemble that of Westfalia. IMHO

I have a 2.2 Trooper (See http://www.fotograaf.com/trooper ).
It is slightly underpowered for highway use. All other use including
off-road it is just fine.
The 2.8 and espacially the intercooler one would perform great.
Reliability and power are much better than the VM 2.4 or 2.5 engine.
I would like one of these if it only was an LR.
My wish...a Defender with the Isuzu engine.
Kind regards,
Erik-Jan.

Hi David, I was told equicar had these for about a grand.

But they also do 200 Tdi's for that, you'll find them via search engines or
yell.com, equicar 4x4 Coseley W.mids.

Regards, Roy.

Yeah, the Nissan engines are maybe even better again.
Especially nice is the straight 6 cyl. diesel.
Don't know if that is the one you mentioned. Thought it was a 3.1 Ltr.
Kind regards,
Erik-Jan.

Great!
I remember from Bosnia on my trip there that the UN was driving those.
Kind regards,
Erik-Jan.

Probably an LD28, or possibly an RD28 motor. The LD series respond
quite well to forced induction too.
