2.5td parts onto a 200tdi

What items will transfare over from my 2.5td to 200tdi as the 200tdi doesnt come with alternator, starter or steering pump is the td items a straight swap

disco 200 tdi or defender ,but starters swap

things like alternator and pas pump etc are not styraight swaps like starter and will need more effort to fit

Well if its a disco 200 i would say td alt will fit, but pas pump wont.

might also find original power steering pipes wont fit the disco pump either.
last one i did i used the 2.5td pump to save swappint the pipework, but had to alter the bracketry and machine a new pulley boss. theres also 2 different types of 2.5td pump, depends on the orientation of the oil feeds. both fit but as said, will need work.

It's going into a defender 90 1989

What it is I'm eather going to put a 200 tdi or 300 tdi in it defending what comes up first just some on ebay have complete engine and some are minus like alt, starter the likes so just wondering what can be taken from my 2.5 td just incase i only end up getting the bare 200/300 engine

Best to buy the engine from someone you know otherwise you could buy a dudd!
