2.5td 110 to a defender 200 tdi

Hi im new here so please go gentle on me please.

I own a 110 2.5td. (dream vehicle apart from the engine) and its gutless and has fuel problems, i wish to put a 200tdi defender lump in it ( i like the 200tdi lump alot) does anyone know if the gearbox will fit and is there anything else i should know before i start out on this quest. Wekcome seth! im pretty new here too and on the prowl for a 200tdi also, try searchin you will learn alot fast that way, just type "200tdi upgrade" into search, hours of reading for ya there!!

Bugger...have to get rid of that 'search' function, people are starting to use it!!

You will have to swap the engine mounts from your 2.5TD.

If your TD has the intergraded oil cooler in the rad then you are into a winner, just swap the connections and pipes onto the 200Tdi lump and use the Tdi rad. You will have to slightly lower the rad mounts so it doesn't hit the bonnet. Also best to retain the TD filter housing.

Last thing is making an exhaust piece between the turbo and the TD exhaust system; altho' if you are flush then Steve Parker Land Rovers do an adaptor piece straight off the shelf.

As has been said above a search will definately answer all the questions.
