hi guys, only new on the forum but heres my 1st question...
went to view an L registered ex mod 2.5n/a yesterday & went for a jaunt up the road, prior to this it was ticking over for about 5 mins....on the way up the road it was smoking a bit,is this normal?..does it take a while for them to clear up?..the engine looks immaculate & was/has a plate on it saying it was recon 2008 by MOD,other than this it was quite a sound example & I'm really interested in purchasing this brute....any help on the Blue smoke senario would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul.:)

many Thanks for that storm99....like i say I'm very interested in the unit & just wanted a bit of advice for piece of mind.Cheers.:)

White smoke is water,(bad) black smoke fuel. (not too bad), bluish normal, especially under acceleration.

Some people tweak the fuel pump to get a bit more oomph..but to be honest on a N/A its not worth it, it'll plod along all day at 50-55. If you push it then you'll get terrible mpg for the extra 5mph.

Definitely blue smoke under acceleration,as i was looking out of the wing mirrors whilst driving along, will it clear up after a while under normal running storm99?...like i say it was an excellent example all round & the only thing with it was the smoke, under normal tick over it was fine, sounded ok aswell apart from the usual rattles with a bone shaker, its my first purchase of a land rover & just wanted to be sure thats all...next stop source a hard top. :)

No, it'll always do it. If its a nice tidy example, chassis and bulkhead rot free then it'll go forever, generally.
Lovely 1st landy, you can do as much or as little to it as you want.

Pics would be good!
