Hi I have just bought a 1986 2.5 petrol land rover 90 and have started experiencing running issues after about 5-10 minutes of driving,

It is definitely fuel related as it just starts spluttering and trying to die ?
I had similar issues with carbs before with them freezing up due to the cold weather, so I blanked the front of the engine to raise the under bonnet temperature,

I have checked all fuel lines for splits and the tightness of the connections, changed the filter and drained and refilled the 2 collection chambers,

But still have the issue?

Any help would be much appreciated

Fuel pump volume? When it starts to act up does declutching and revving the engine restore it for a few more yards?

How are the float levels in the carburettor? Everything there set up properly?

Also, don't assume that the electrics are not implicated - when it starts to sputter a quick check of the spark quality might tell you much - if it's a conventional ignition the condensor can be breaking down once it warms up and petrol engines run like crap with no condensor.

Check the temperature of the coil as well - if it's a ballast coil being run with no resistor it'll get very hot and stop working properly after running for a few minutes..
