A chum is looking at an R reg 2.5 P38 but it has 140,000 miles on a BMW engine.

It's priced very low but apart from looking at the obvious suspension etc, is he mad?

Depends on service history and what has been done and serviced in the past and of course WHEN!

My P38 has done close to 150K, but my P38 has very extensive service history..pages and pages of it and stamps!

Whats the asking price?

About 3.5k for a very tidy colour coded blue car, cream leather, on 18" twin spokes.

I would say he isnt mad either. When I got my DSE it had 145K on it. It had lots and lots of service history and receipts though. Ive now just passed 170K in mine and its fine, just make sure its serviced properly and change the oil every 6K miles.

£3,500 does seem a little too low for it though, is there definitely no problems with the engine, suspension, gearbox etc??

-Wills :)

Wills right, £3.5K is very low.....you have to ask yourself whats wrong with it?

Unless of course the owner hasnt a clue what the cars worth....but I'd doubt that!

3.5k is a great price.
the bmw engine will easy do 250 000 if serviced every 6 t0 10 k.

at that price there has to be a snag with the car.
take a :p p38 expert with you when you look at it
