2.5 Dse - Chip

Hi there,

I have just bought an R reg 2.5 DSE Range Rover. It needs a little bit of work (very minor) but reading numerous threads and articles it appears a chip is a must have.

I was just wondering if anyone can recommend any particular one as i have seen so may out there at such varying prices?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, it's a 2.5 DSE, P38 model.

Hi Mark. I have just bought a psi power box off ebay. The best thing I could have done. It has totally trasformed my range rover and i cant imagine driving with out it now. The power is there straight away and so much more of it too. Check ebay for them. I paid £200 for my box and it is worth every penny. Some one is selling them on there at the moment for £175 buy it now price but im not sure what make it is but I think it is a power box. Make sure you get one for your year range rover as they changed the plug on the fuel pump in 1999 as I found out when I bought my first one that was for a 1999 model and mine is a 1998 model !!! Apparently the psi box is a digital box and not an analouge box as most are. The digital are better. Hope this is of help.

Yes I did fit it myself. It takes about 5 minutes. All you have to do is unplug the plug from the injection pump and plug the power box in between and a the same with another plug on the side of the fuel filter. It took me longer to cable tie all the wires up than it did to fit it !! There is one on ebay at the moment that finishes about 8pm. The price at the moment is £80 !!! (I paid £200). Any body could fit it.

That £80 psi chip went for 151. I managed to get it. It makes a bit of difference. Turbo spins up a lot easier. Also bought a K&N from rimmer bros.

Hi p38rr. I was watching the chip and saw it go for 150. Cheaper than i got mine !! you dont think it made that much difference ? It totally transformed mine. Do you know that there are different settings inside the box ? If you send me your email address I will send you a picture of the different settings. There are 4 settings in totall. Cheers
