Got a bit of an issue with my 2000 (X) 2.5 DHSE. I thought it was a problem with the accelerator as every so often when you go to pull away you can put your foot to the floor and nothing happens at all, no movement and no sound. But then take your foot off the pedal completely and do it again and you can take off.

But I've tried operating the accelerator in Park/Neutral and this sticking problem never occurs.

Anyone had this happen before?

This has come up before, can't remember what the answer was but it was not the throttle potentiometer.

Hmmmm, Well I don't know whether it's connected, but the temperature gauge on the dash has never worked since I've had the car. I've changed the temperature sensor itself and it's still not working, but it appears to be working on the ECU side as it's not using way more fuel that it should to try and compensate for thinking it's cold.

Gauge temp sensor has nothing to do with fuelling. You MUST have the correct sensor for the ECU. STC2299 green in colour. Gauge sensor up to 1998 STC2253 brown in colour. Single wire. 1998 on NSC100820 blue in colour. Twin wire. And of course the correct sensor MUST be in the correct location.
