hi, Can anybody help?
Im looking for a 2.5 bmw diesel engine for my p38 range rover.
It all started with me throwing the main drive belt, this was caused by the water pump shaft giving way and in turn giving play in the viscous fan. So i replaced all of this, Whilst at it replaced an idler pulley as the bearings where knackered.
All back together running fine... Then half way round the M25 everthing cuts out i overheat.... The head gaskets gone! So i strip the head, skim it replace all gaskets ( and melted sensors!) All back together again! Start up and find at least 2 piston rings gone. Que the violins!!!!!!!!!
So now i need a new lump. Can anybody help. I live in chelmsford and would like to hear it running before i buy. I cant handle another one going bang!
