2.4 2007 Puma sort of loses power when driving sometimes

I hope someone can help.

I have a 2007 Puma with 100k on the clock. Recently every now and then when driving along the engine sort of seems to lose power and acceleration slows and I have to have my foot to the floor to maintain, or accelerate. The engine will rev fine if I put it in neutral. But if I stop and turn the engine off and restart it everything is fine and back to normal.

Can anyone help?

Hi, Have you managed to get yours fixed? I have the same problem, it was diagnosed as a sticking EGR valve. Changed valve, replaced intercooler hoses and airflow meter so now no fault code but still down on power.
