I've just fitted new pistons and rings to my 3MB 2 1/4 petrol engine. At the same time I had the head refurbed and set up for unleaded. I haven't run the engine yet but did a compression test (cold/wet)
1 - 125psi
2 - 125 psi
3 150psi
4 150 psi

Looking at the results you'd think head gasket between 1 and 2 but its brand new! I'm wondering whether to go ahead and try and get it to run hoping that the rings haven't bedded in yet or take the top off now to investigate further.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be or way ahead or damage I might do if I try and run it??

thanks

Have you re-honed the bores? The new rings will need to wear in to get good compression
If not, they will never wear in, in my opinion
