Dear Forum!

I have a series 3 diesel, which I'm rebuilding. I believe it was originally petrol, and has had the diesel fitted later. Therefore it has the rod type linkage for the accelerator rather than a cable, which the Haynes manual refers to. Is this correct?

The linkage has never been connected correctly in my ownership, and having reconnected it as I thought it should be, the accelerator doesn't spring back to the idling position.

Does anyone have a diagram of what this should look like - even a photograph?

Many thanks in advance

Jonathan

My old doosul III had a rod type linkage. Not sure from your post whether that's the way around you were talking abart?

It should return tho'! Is there no spring?

Can't help with pics as I've a diffrunt motor now.

Thanks guys,
Looking forward to seeing a picture!

I must say, the weather here in York has been absolutely appalling this last week, which I'd taken as holiday to get some much needed work done on the landy! grrr
