I purchased a 1986 Defender 90 a few months back and I had a few quick questions I was hoping some long time owners might be able to help me with.
The vehicle in running great for the most part, the only problem is that the passenger seat gets VERY hot on long drives, and as its an old car (no A/C) and I live in Uganda that becomes a problem for anyone driving with me (my wife).
Currently the battery is under the seat, but that surely can't produce this type of heat. The engine runs warm on long trips but I can't figure out why so much hot air comes up under the seat.
Is this a problem others have? If so, is there any way to reduce it to a more comfortable level? I already have rubber installation around the battery and have covered the seat box to reduce some of the heat, but it is still pretty bad. Any help or suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks
