Hi, we have got a 99 Discovery 2, V8i - LPG, we have just changed the transfer box oil & front & rear diff box oils and we have used Rock Oil 5/30 fully synthetic oil which we had very highly recommended to us.

Now a bit worried if this is this as good at the 75/90 that is usually recommended???

Any thoughts please?????:)

who recommended it? its frikin engine oil grade, not gearbox oil!! the manufacures say use 75/90 so only use 75/90. id be draining it off NOW and put in what its ment to have in before you do any damage

Bang on. Only the ****ty frontera had engine oil (10/40) in its diffs. get the right stuff son. Who recommended that? stevie wonder?

Thanks chaps...... thought as much, very worryingly it was someone who works in the oil industry that recommended this! - and we even checked and double checked with him on this!!!!!

Done about 10m in disco since putting in this oil, so hopefully not done any damage?

Looks like gonna be busy under the car again tomorrow replacing it all again :(
