Good day, just bought the above car. It runs ok, other than a rough idle and the odd drop of oil from the transfer case. However I was quite surprised when filling up the first time. Fuel consumption was between 8-9 mpg. I would have hoped for 15 or 16 with a light foot and early shifting. This seems high to me, as I did not rev the car above 2500 and did not drive quicker than 70 mph on the motorway.
The idle is relatively rough. Another odd issue is the check engine light. It only flashes shortly (1/10th sec) when switching on the ignition. I would have expected it to stay on until the engine is started. I tried to read out the error log via the OBD connector in the drivers foot well. However that connector seems to be dead. The same dongle that happily flashes on a range of other cars is dead.
Any ideas what to look for first?
