Hello,

It seems that I've bought a Defender, and it replaces a very trustworthy workhorse. A discovery, which is now up for grabs.

It's a 1997 'p' reg, 5 door discovery in grey. It's covered 228k miles, but it still starts and runs fantastically. MOT ends 25th April, tax until the end of April. It's been rather neglected, many dents, bits of trim missing etc. But I've used it daily for two years and I couldn't ask for better reliability. I can't see it needing much for the MOT, it will need an offside door mirror glass, and maybe a tyre or two, but you'll have to be the judge when you view it.

I'm not looking for a lot of money, and i'd consider swapping for something series, a workshop machine or something old, rusty and british.

My Defender lands on Saturday 30th. So the Disco will be redundant from then. The defender has a set of alloys with bfg tyres, and those will be available so they could go with the disco if required.

Get in touch, i'm sure we can come to an arrangement.

All the best, Sam.

I might be interested. I'm local (Manningtree) and have a S2a project car (which I'm looking at selling, as I'm never going to start it) and a 200tdi 110 CSW which I'm thinking about selling.

More photos here. £700 would take it away. Still open to consider swaps or partial swaps. I'll try to find a tow hitch for the back, but i'll probably be taking the flashing beacons off.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

It's worth £200 absolute maximum.

If you're not interested in buying it, stop wasting my time. If it comes to it, i'll put an mot on it, or i'll break it. £700 is the price and it's staying at £700.

He'd get £500 + £200 for the engine and gearbox, so why is the price high:confused:

Are they stripped out ready to be sold and fitted here or is he selling a motor to be used and driven with almost no mot.

Now if u was selling a motor that was going to be driven I would have it mot,d as I'd get more money and let it be known I wasn't selling a rusted out heap not that it is .. Is it :):):)

It's an old disco, how do you know its rusted out?

Flaming folk for no reason is getting out of control.

All the guy is doing is selling his old motor so he can make space for his new one.
Both Land Rovers and this is a Land Rover forum isn't it
