Right, I've been working on this non stop for a few days to get it on the road, it's now passed its MOT with no advisories.

These are a few pics of the rear end work, not too many as I was working to a deadline.

Initial strip down wasn't too bad, a few patches on the cross member and a strip to weld in on the boot floor/rear tub

The edges of the floor were scabby but nothing major.

It's great to drive the gearbox is so smooth, just got some squeaks from the dash) centre console to sort but it's otherwise great

Haven't updated much for a while.

On that camping trip in the pics above, it failed to start a few times, so got it started and swapped it for the Subaru for the rest of the holiday. When I was home I set about finding the fault, found the starter relay had lost its earth from the neutral switch so that was an easy fix, although it can now be started in drive lol.

After that I swapped a few items, coolant temp sensors, idle control valve, HT leads just trying to make her abit more reliable.

Got a call from a friend to see why his defender was playing up, so the disco went to work and towed it back

Turned out to be ****ty diesel.

Soon after 1st getting her I took the viscous fan off which pulled the thread off the water pump with it, so I'd been running without a fan for a while, I contacted revotec to see if they did an electric fan kit for my engine etc, they didn't have one on the shelf but we're developing a kit and were nearing the end of testing so asked if I wanted to try the kit for a slightly lower price.

It works and fits a treat, I've since fitted a stack water temp gauge to see when it's kicking in and all is fine.

I also fitted a new A/C condenser and dryer when fitting the fans, got it tested and re-gased

Now got nice cold A/C for the day of summer we might get.

Now at up to present day and were off on another camping trip on friday, so she's all washed and hoovered ready for a 200mile-ish journey towing the caravan.

Petrol stations here we come!

It did well on the holiday, glad I got the AC sorted.

Aswell as it did, it will be for sale as soon as I get the headlining recovered to make way for my new purchase.

So......I got 'Boo' some company on the drive, a 300tdi 3 door, two owners from new and both of them live on the same road as me

Because of the new arrival I pulled my finger out to finish boo ready for sale, the headlining was the 1st thing I pulled out of the car when I got it but it's the last bit to go back.

I didn't enjoy this job, unfortunately the 3 door needs a new one too :(

The results aren't bad if I say so myself, not perfect but do much better than before.
