I think if you unclup the expansion tank and look underneath there's a plug under there where @tomcat59alan found a break in the past. Good place for a rodent to nibble too.

I saw a woodmouse in one of mine the other day. Bit nerve racking!
Quite correct mate,it was the feed from the fuse box to the obd plug. Brown wire in the main loom which passes through the bulkhead, runs under the heater to the obd. From memory there is also a splice which feeds the Hevac.

Sometimes find the odd dropping on top of the L322, how the feck they get up there and why, who knows? Spent ages chasing an abs fault on my Jag, changed out the sensor etc.. eventually found a nibbled wire right up inside the wing. I was given a car by a Customer as she was fed up of the Rats eating her intercooler pipes, after changing them three times for her and setting traps she gave up and bought a non turbo car. There is no shortage of predators, we have Owls in my barn and cats but it doesn't seem to stop the little sods from stomping over the cars at night!

It is warm and dry, safe from predators and there's plenty to sharpen their teeth on?

Maybe a pet ferret?

If I lived in Yorkshire it would be expected that you keep Ferrets and Chickens in your junkers! I found my Chickens were best for dispatching rodents but Wifey won't let me keep them free range... apparently they poo too much on her patio and dig up her plants, I could live with that as they also used to keep the lawn down. My Cockerels did stick my Mother in Hospital, I remember those fateful words well as we left for a holiday, "had chooks as a young girl, they won't get the better of me!"

We had a ferret (who doesn't) Lovely little chap, trained to bite ankles at a nod. Had a harness and lead and took him for walks allover. Had to laugh when some one always came up to stroke the cute little puppy until the moment they realized what it was:D:D:D
Some tw*t stole him in the end. Coppers didn't want to know. They did 6 mnth later when my eldest found out who it was and paid them a visit. Did I ever mention he is a 4th Dan tai Kwando instructor:rolleyes::p:rolleyes::D We didn't get ferret back but he keeps well away from our house ever since. Moral of this tale you can have the missis BUT don't touch their ferret

Chooks are my babies, Cockerels tend to run away when they see me.... Alpha male, I drop kick them at least once a week to confirm my leadership! I want a goat and ducks, Daughter wants a Ferret but usually Daddy ends up looking after and cleaning out her whims! I draw the line at her snake and forcibly get her to clean it out with threats of rehoming.... the snake, most of the time! Fun of living in the Countryside, wouldn't swap it for anything.
